Rekey, repair or replace?

Rekeying changes the pins inside the cylinder so old keys stop working. It is usually the most economical way to take back control after a move, a breakup, a lost key ring or a departing tenant. Repair makes sense when the lock is good quality but sticky, loose or hard to turn. Replacement is the right call when the lock is worn out, damaged after a break-in attempt, or when you want a higher grade, a smart lock or a different look.

Renters and landlords

Tenants should check their lease before changing or adding locks; many leases require the landlord to have a key. Landlords can ask us to rekey between tenancies or set up a master key system so one key opens every unit door while each tenant's key opens only their own.

For evictions, we change locks only as part of a lawful removal carried out by a court officer. We do not perform lockouts on occupied homes without that process.

Frequently asked questions

Can you open my door without damaging it?

In most cases, yes. We start with non-destructive entry methods. If a lock is broken or a high-security cylinder can't be picked, drilling may be needed, and we tell you before we do it.

Can you make all my door locks use one key?

Often, yes, if the locks share a compatible keyway. We can rekey them to one key or suggest matching cylinders.

Do you install smart locks?

Yes. We fit keypad and app-based locks and check that the door is aligned so the bolt throws smoothly, which matters for battery life.

Do I need to be home for a rekey?

Someone with authority over the property needs to be there to let us in and confirm the work.
